US Fintech firm Chime recently revealed that they are introducing free cash deposits at Walgreens.
Chime has teamed up with Walgreens (Nasdaq: WBA) to provide free cash deposits at 8,500+ locations. That’s “more walk-in locations than you’d have using any bank in the US.,” the company revealed.
The team at Chime also noted:
“What’s better than cash in your pocket? It’s getting that cash safely tucked away in your Chime Checking Account where you can save, share, and yes, spend it.”
The update from Chime also mentioned that the next time you make a Walgreens run, you can “make free cash deposits to your Chime Checking Account.”
The company added that they’ve partnered with Walgreens to bring clients access to convenient walk-in locations, and if you find yourself at one of 75,000 other retail locations including CVS ®, Walmart ®, and 7-Eleven®, you can also deposit cash there as well (terms may apply).
In order to deposit funds at a retail store, you simply need to bring your cash to the register. Then you can hand your cash and Chime Visa Debit Card to the cashier. After doing this, you can start swiping and saving, the Fintech firm explained.
Chime also mentioned that you could do this all day. To be clear, you may add “up to 3 per day $1,000.00 per load; $1,000.00 per day; $10,000.00 per calendar month (subject to any retailer imposed limits).” (Note: to learn more about this update from Chime, check here.)
As covered earlier this year, Walgreens had rolled out the new myWalgreens Credit Card program, which features two “industry-first” retail health and wellness credit cards that have been issued by Synchrony Bank (NYSE: SYF).
The myWalgreens Mastercard and the myWalgreens card will be offering more personalized wellbeing choices. They will also offer special rewards at over 9,000 Walgreens locations, Walgreens.com, Walgreens-owned Duane Reade locations, through the Walgreens mobile app, and wherever Mastercard is accepted.
