New Brave Browser Available For General Download
Users downloading a new version of the Brave desktop browser will have the latest browser release that has been redesigned. The new browser is based on Chromium and the latest version is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. The information has been released by the company on October 18.
The company explains that the release is an important milestone on their path towards Brave 1.0. Additionally, the blog post reads that there will be several releases before 1.0 goes live and it’s officially launched.
This Chromium release was made available to developers and other adopters on September 6. On September 27, a larger beta was launched. Additionally, the company explains that the Muon-based Brave browser is not available anymore for download on their site.
Brave announced that it is also releasing internal performance tests and metrics. They explain that there are several advantages with the latest Chromium-based browser. As per the blog post, it has a 22% faster load time than the Brave Muon version. That means that this is the fastest browser ever created by Brave.
There are also some other upgrades such as tab shape and colour changes, URL bar centered changes, default Brave Shield settings, fixes to Widevine functionality, localization updates, web compatibility fixes and more.
At the same time, they say that they are very grateful to the feedback provided by all the users since the developer version entered the market. Brave says that they will be releasing more updates as the official launch for 1.0 gets closer and closer.
